(via Brian Dinsdale, 20.01.30):

Sally Carroll died on January 29, succumbing to cancer after a prolonged battle with the disease. She passed peacefully at the Bridgepoint hospice in Toronto.
Sally, a banjoist and avid jazz fan was resident with the Lakeridge Dixie Stompers and a frequent sit-in with other bands.
Our condolences go to her family and long-time partner, Herman.
We will miss her infectious smile and her keen interest in the early jazz scene.
Arrangements will be noted here, when known (JG: see below)

(from Kelly, Lisa & Ryan Carroll, 20.01.31):

Dear Friends - old and new.

Sadly our mother Sally Carroll passed away last evening at Bridgepoint Hospital from metastatic breast cancer. She got a diagnosis in early November that was very aggressive.

We are grateful to all of you for your kind well wishes, phone calls, and visits with our mother over these past few weeks.

We are just finalising plans in East York for:

Visitation Wednesday 05 Feb @16:00 – 20:00
Funeral (catholic mass) Thursday 06 Feb @10:00 -11:00 (with a reception to follow)

More details will be posted here later today (Friday):

For those of you in Toronto, we would appreciate knowing whether you might attend either or both events, to adequately plan our catering. Please forward this notice to anybody you feel has been missed off this distribution list.

Best regards.
