Players from Buffalo? Sure. From Ottawa? Often. Rochester NY? Not a problem.
In addition to the local talent that Brian Dinsdale recruits for his ever-changing band, Dinny & the All Stars, it is not uncommon to enjoy the likes of Peter Turner/trombone/Ottawa or Dan McCue/banjo/Buffalo or Lynn Eberhardt/bass/Rochester, as was the case on Sunday April 07, making for an early evening of top-notch jazz. Great hear Lynn's tuba. The writer is a big fan of Dinny's All Stars - one of Toronto's finest Dixieland jazz bands - and their alternate Sundays residency at the Queen Victoria pub is a great way to round off a weekend of jazz.
